Logo… the beginning of everything!

At Sevenloft we know that designing a logo or brand for a business (or its individual service or product) is an important and time-consuming process. This happens because it must be done correctly and methodically, in order to express your corporate culture (your values, your philosophy), but also to properly perform your services and products, bringing benefits to the company. A logo is the most important element for a business! It is the basis of the entire corporate identity, as the logo will tell a whole story about who you are, the business cards will be set up, the company forms, the advertising brochures, the website… even the decoration of the physical store, both inside and outside! A logo must:

01
Be adaptable to each application and remain unchanged across all.
02
To be easily understood by the viewing public, timeless and unforgettable.
03
To facilitate business-to-public communication by comprehensively conveying a visual message.
It is not enough for us to simply provide you with a “nice” logo. A logo is your trademark. We make sure your logo can be applied equally whether you want to place it on a napkin or cover a huge sign on the highway.
We want your customers to recognize you by looking at it and connect with you every time they look at it.

Free or paid logo?

Many times we have participated in the debate of free or paid logo. Many feel that a cheap or free logo will benefit both their time and their wallet. However, this does not correspond to reality.

A cheap or free logo, provided to you in even one day, is mathematically precise a template that has been used for thousands of businesses, does not conform to logo design standards and does not differentiate you in the market (it is very likely to meet it elsewhere, with a different color or positioned for another use). In addition, it does not meet the graphical rules and most likely will not suit every graphical application.

In the long run, a free or cheap logo will leave you damaged and exposed to your audience, while rebranding, redesigning and replacing the logo in every application (storefronts, site, corporate identity, packaging, coc. ), in the end, it will turn out to be much more costly than the initial design by a professional. If you are interested in logo design in Thessaloniki, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss everything that concerns you!

Think not just twice… but SEVEN, before choosing a free logo!
A logo can be rendered as a symbol either recognizable – such as the twitter bird which is perceived to be a bird – or more abstract, i.e. a symbol that is not easily perceived – such as adidas’ three lines -. While the symbol is the true mark of a business, it is difficult to establish for a start-up and needs to be accompanied by a verbal part, at an early stage. Before settling on the symbol as a logo choice you should decide which image will best represent what your brand stands for, both in the short term and in the long term (for example you might start a shop that makes Italian spaghetti and you need a bowl of spaghetti as a logo. What will but if 3 years later you decide to include pizzas or other Italian foods?).

A mascot logo is usually about a character, rendered linearly, almost like a cartoon. It is a more “funny” type of logo, with more colors, while it can also function as a “representative” of your company, at various events or in your online presence. One such logo is that of Pillsbury. However, even this kind of logo should remain as minimal as possible in order to perform best in any application.
The logo can also be rendered without a symbol, using only one word – wordmark (e.g. Google), the initials of some words (e.g. HP from Hewlett Packard) or a monogram (e.g. the F of Fendi). A word mark aims to portray the brand by giving character to a single word. A logo based solely on the visualization of a single word is characterized by custom or processed fonts. Coca Cola, NASA, YSL, IBM, Disney… Sevenloft (!) etc. have such logos.
This kind of logo is mainly based on minimalism and typography is the most important. It should be both easy to read and give your business an identity. If the business is a start-up, then it would be good to add the full name below the monogram or initials to make it easier for consumers to connect with the brand.

This type of logo is also the one you will meet most in the Greek market. It consists of the 2 elements above, a symbol or mascot and a verbal element. The word “frames” the symbol in a position around it (usually to the right or below), with corresponding examples of Lacoste, Mikel, etc.! The two elements complement each other, and it’s an easier way for the public to start recognizing the logo and associating it with your company (and in the future, keep just the symbol). This type of logo is more commonly known as a “trademark”.
It is a single mark – in the style of a badge – which contains the symbol and the word within a shape. It is a more vintage way of viewing and is usually used by educational institutions, sports clubs and agencies (eg Chelsea, Arsenal, Paramount, etc.). However, it is also found in companies such as Starbucks, and Costa Coffee, structured in a more modern way. It is more complex in design and must be designed with great care so that it performs equally well in any marketing application.

How long does it take to design a logo?

The turnaround time for a logo design, from initial discussion to final delivery, is estimated to be between 2-3 weeks.
The schedule certainly depends on your response times when we send you the first designs, the subsequent corrections and the number of changes you will need until we reach what satisfies you completely.

02

Who owns the copyright of the logo?

The copyright of the final files you will receive belongs exclusively to your business. Upon completion of the logo design and once payment is made, the copyright for the final agreed upon logo is transferred to you.
